Training for journos ends at IU

Our Correspondent Islamic University, Oct 18: A three-day-long foundation training programme on 'journalism' ended at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia district on Thursday. Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) and Islamic University Journalists' Association (IUJA) jointly organised the training programme at the conference room of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell of the university. IU vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari inaugurated the training programme as the chief guest while treasurer Professor M Selim Toha and IUJA president Emran Shuvro were present as the special guests with IU press club president Ferdousur Rahman Shohag in the chair. Zilhaj Uddin Nipun trained the journalists on the first day. Around 40 journalists of different online and print media participated in the training programme. Addressing the inaugural session, the speakers instructed journalists to practice journalism with honesty, objectivity and accuracy.
