ETV ex-chairman Salam joins Gano Forum

Private TV Channel ETV's ex-chairman Abuds Salam on Sunday formally joined Gano Forum, a key component of Jatiya Oikyafront, ahead of the 11th parliamentary elections, reports UNB. Salam joined Gano Forum at a press conference of the party at the Jatiya Press club. Dr Kamal Hossain welcomed Salam and asked him to work for empowering the country's people. Speaking at the press meet, Salam said, "ETV was grabbed on this day (Nov 25 in 2015). I was there in jail for two and a half years. I had to face such a situation as I fought for upholding the truth." He said he joined Dr Kamal Hossain's Gano Forum with a new hope for a change in the current bad time of the country. "I'm with Dr Kamal Hossain expecting for having good days." At the beginning of the press meet, Dr Kamal introduced slain former Awami League Finance Minister Shah AMS Kibria's son Reza Kibria and former Kurigram Awami League leader Maj Gen (retd) AMSA Amin who recently joined Gano Forum. The duo said they joined Gano Forum to work for the country under the leadership of Dr Kamal. On November 19, 10 retired defence officers formally joined Gono Forum. Gano Forum training affairs secretary Rafiqul Islam Pathik said two more Awami League leaders, including a former minister and a son of a late minister, was supposed to join their party at the press conference, but they could not come to the Press Club for joining for various reasons. He said some ruling party leaders are likely to join Gano Forum very soon.
