Five killed in Cox's Bazar, Ctg accidents

News Desk At least five people were killed in separate road crashes in Cox's Bazar and Chattogram districts on Wednesday. Three people were killed and four others injured when a covered van hit a humanhauleron Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway near Inani Resort in Chakaria upazila on Wednesday. The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. Nure Alam, in-charge of Siringa Highway police camp, said the accident took place around 11:30 am when a covered van of 'Ranbow Paribahan' hit a humanhauler, leaving three dead on the spot and four others injured. The injured were taken to Sadar Hospital, he added. At least two people were killed while another one was injured in a head-on collision between two covered vans on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Mirsarai upazila early Wednesday. One of the deceased was identified as Kabir Hossain, 40, a driver of a covered van while the identity of other could not be known yet. Inspector Rabiul Azam Robin of Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defence said the accident took place around 3:30 am when two covered vans collided head-on, leaving two dead on the spot. A man identified as Goutam was injured in the accident and taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. (Inputs taken from UNB)
