Nurun Nabi gets lifetime achievement award

News Report Renowned educationist Principal Colonel Nurun Nabi (retd.), at present Milestone College adviser, has got the lifetime achievement award by education-based magazine Education Watch for his outstanding contribution to the education sector in Bangladesh. Education Watch organised an award giving ceremony in the Sufia Kamal Auditorium at National Museum on Monday, marking its 10th founding anniversary, says a press release. Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman was present as the chief guest at the award giving ceremony. Nurun Nabi was born on December 25, 1946 in the village of Saisa under Raipur thana of Noakhali district (now Laxmipur). His father was the late Ali Haider Master was a renowned teacher and mother the late Hazara Begum was a housewife and an ideal mother. He started his school life from Sandwip in Chittagong district. He passed class five with the scholarship from Char Zamidarhat Primary School, SSC from Laxmipur Model High School, HSC from Dhaka College and BSC from Jagannath College. He joined the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul in 1970. He worked 33 years in Bangladesh Army. Principal Colonel Nurun Nabi (retd.) was the founding principal of Rajuk Uttara Model College and Milestone College. He also served as the principal of Jhenidah Cadet College and Faujdarhat Cadet College. At present, he is working as adviser of the Milestone College.
