Namaz-e-janaza for Raka Rashid today

The Namaz-e-janaza for education specialist Raka Rashid will be held after Jumma prayers at a mosque at Road no 7 in Dhanmondi today (Friday), reports BSS. Later, she will be buried at New Azimpur graveyard in the city. Raka Rashid, wife of former secretary and freedom fighter Mamunur Rashid and daughter of Mirza Faiz Ahmed and Professor Masuda Ahmed, died of cardiac arrest at a local hospital on April 15. She is survived by her children Faryal, Salman, and Shaqer and sister Rumana Chaudhury of Great Falls, Virginia, USA. Raka worked for international development agencies in Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. From March to December in 1971, Raka Rashid and her husband were based in Cooch Behar and Dhubri of India, and later in Mujibnagar as freedom fighters for the Liberation of Bangladesh. A doa mahfil will be held at her 16/A residence, Road 2, Dhanmondi R/A here after Asr prayers on Saturday.
