Dhaka Abahani appoints Tito as head coach

Federation Cup and Premier League Football champions Dhaka Abahani Limited appointed former national coach Saiful Bari Tito as their head coach for the ensuing AFC Cup Football, reports UNB. Six-time premier league champions Dhaka Abahani Limited will play New Radiant Sporting Club of the Maldives in their first AFC Cup match in Dhaka on March 7. The popular sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit played their last few premier league matches and made their early exist from the ongoing Independence Cup losing to Arambagh KS 0-3 in the quarterfinal without any coach after the departure of their Serbian head coach Drago Momic. Tito, who trained Bangladesh National Football team, Dhaka Mohammedan SC, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Chittagong Abahani Limited, will start his new assignment with the new club on February 12 taking job with new challenge. After the appointment, Tito said, "I like to take new job as a challenge. It's a good opportunity for me to prove myself. AFC Cup is a big platform for a coach and coaching team like Dhaka Abahani is also a big challenge and responsibility for any coach."
