Steel mill catches fire in city

A fire broke out in a steel mill in Kadamtali area in the city early Saturday, reports UNB. Seven employees were injured in the fire incident. The fire broke out at 'Rahima Ispat and Steel Factory" around 1:30am, said Mahfuz Riven, duty officer of fire service headquarters. On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flame around 2:50am. No casualty was reported immediately, he said. However, sources at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said seven employees of the steel mill were injured in the incident. Among them, two were admitted to the hospital, while five others were given first aid in the DMCH, said In-charge of the DMCH police camp SI Bachhu Mia. The two employees, who are now undergoing treatment in the hospital are known as Nazul, 28, and Abdur Gaffar , 29, said SI Bachchu Mia. Other five employees, who took first aids in the hospital are-Jamal, 35, and Sohel, 40, Ramzan, 29, Shamim 48, and Ahmed Ali, 40, SI Bachhu said.
