Int’l Education & Cultural Carnival begins at DIU

To promote tourism and hospitality management in Bangladesh and make it practiced in mass level and the best way to do it in schools, colleges and universities a two-day long 1st International Education & Cultural Carnival Bangladesh 2017 based on global tourism and hospitality management begins on Wednesday at Daffodil International University (DIU), says a press release. Based on the theme on “Let the stage of the tourism day and the tourism year reflect the victory song of tourism and hospitality”, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of DIU and Federation of Hospitality, Tourism & Event Management (FOHTEM) have jointly organised the carnival. Professor Dr. S M Mahabubul Hoque Majumder, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, inaugurated the carnival as the chief guest. Professor Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Zahangir Alam, Head of Hospitality of The Aks Khan Center of Excellence (ACE), Professor Md. Moqbul Hossain, Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of World University, Professor Hosne Ara Alam, Chairman, Department of Home Economics of Habibullah Bahar College, Daniel Chandan Gomes, Corporate Executive Chef of The Aks Khan Center of Excellence (ACE), were present as the guest of honour. Presided over by Professor Md. Mahabubur Rahman, Chairman of FOHTEM, the function was also addressed by Mahabub Parvez, Head Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of DIU, and M A Nahiyan, chief organizer. The two-day long carnival includes workshop and career planning seminar on THM, live cooking show and cooking contest and talk show, project display, management machete and business solution, multimedia presentations, cultural events, live cooking show and cooking contest and talk show. 500 students of 20 universities, colleges and schools and institutions attended the two-day long carnival.
