Civil servants urged to work for welfare of people

Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu Sunday said the officials-employees of the republic will have to discharge their duties being imbued with the spirit of Bengali nationalism and patriotism for the development of the country, reports BSS. “Skilled civil service is the basis of the public administration. Civil servants must work for the welfare of the people as well as the country,” said Amu while speaking at a discussion meeting at the industries ministry here. The ministry organized the meeting marking the National Public Service Day-2017 with its additional secretary Sushen Chandra Das in the chair, said a media release. Amu said the members of public service should inform people about their activities. They need to work sincerely through evaluating their responsibilities and correcting mistakes, he added. As part of the day’s programme, 11 organiz-ations under the industries ministry informed people about their activities through displaying banners, festoons and showing video. Amu unveiled the cover of a book titled ‘Accreditation and Related Essays’ published by Bangladesh Accreditation Board at the programme.
