PM's bilateral visit to Sweden June 15-16

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to undertake a bilateral visit to Sweden on June 15-16 which Dhaka expects will give an impetus to the existing bilateral relations, reports UNB. On her way to Stockholm, the Prime Minister is expected to have a stopover in London for one day before heading for Sweden, a Foreign Ministry official said on Sunday. She is scheduled to leave Dhaka on June 12 or June 13, and expected to return home on June 17, the official said. The Prime Minister will have a bilateral meeting with her Swedish counterpart Stefan Löfven during the visit to discuss ways to promote trade and investment between the two countries with more focus on shipbuilding and garment sector. However, it is not yet finalised whether any deal will be signed apart from issuing a bilateral joint statement during the visit. Sheikh Hasina visited Sweden in 2009 to attend the European Development Days, a forum organised each year by the European Commission to bring the development community together to share ideas and experiences.
