6 ISCA activists held in city

Six activists of Islami Shasantantra Chhatra Andolan (ISCA), including its President, have been detained for allegedly running propaganda against the State and the government on Facebook, reports bdnews24.com.
They were held during a raid from the Islamist group’s headquarters at Purana Paltan on Thursday night in the capital, said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-3 ASP Md Anisuzzaman.
He identified the detainees as: the organisation’s chief Md Ariful Islam, 25, its Literary Affairs Secretary Md Rahmatullah, 23, Madrasa Affairs Secretary Md Imdadullah, 25, Publications Affairs Secretary Abdur Rahman, 24, Metropolitan unit Madrasa Affairs Secretary Md Sirajul Islam, 23, and central leader Sheikh Md Maruf, 24.
RAB nabbed them after raiding the second floor of Noakhali Tower at Purana Paltan, Anisuzzaman said.
“They had been posting anti-government, anti-state and provocative materials on their organisation’s Facebook page for a long time,” the RAB official told bdnews24.com
During primary quizzing, the detainees had accepted the charges brought against them, he said.
“Legal actions will be taken against them,” said Anisuzzaman.
