Popularise science, ICT-based edn for digital Bangladesh

RANGPUR, Sept 27: Discussants at an inaugural ceremony of a science fair have stressed popularizing science and information communication technology (ICT)-based education for building a medium income digital Bangladesh, reports BSS.
They were addressing the two-day divisional science fair- 2013 organised jointly by the divisional and district administrations at Zila Parishad Community Centre in the city recently.
Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Deloar Bakht attended and addressed the ceremony as the chief guest and formally launched the fair by cutting ribbon with Deputy Commissioner Farid Ahammad in the chair.
Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Narayan Chandra Barma, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Kazi Hassan Ahmed and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Mizanur Rahman addressed as the special guests.
Different government departments and organisations, secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions from all eight districts in Rangpur division have set up 21 stalls projecting different scientific innovations and ICT-based digitised technologies in the fair.
Hundreds of officials, heads of different government departments, students, teachers, guardians, public representatives, socio-cultural and political activists, professionals and elite visited different stalls on the first day.
The speakers said the advanced nations have achieved faster developments in all sectors of their economy through adopting science, technology-based education and digitised ICT in their educational institutions at all levels.
