Increasing cooperation with Panama stressed

President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday underscored taking steps to explore areas of cooperation in the field of shipping with Panama as the Latin American country is one of the largest providers of international shipping services, reports UNB.
The President's exhortation came when newly appointed Ambassador of Panama to Bangladesh Aram B Cisneros Naylor presented his credentials to him at Bangabhaban.
Welcoming the new Ambassador, the President said Bangladesh deeply values the bonds of friendship and cordial relations between Bangladesh and Panama.
"Despite the physical distance, the two countries share common values and aspirations that have been nurtured both in bilateral and multilateral fields," he said.
Abdul Hamid said Bangladesh is gradually reaching out to its friends in Latin America to enhance its close ties with the South and Central American region.
